The people behind Research Futures

Research & Innovation

The Research Futures School is part of the Research & Innovation department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Research & Innovation (R&I) department is responsible for strategy, delivery and management of all clinical research that takes place in our hospitals.

We also lead on the translation of research evidence into new innovations to improve the quality of care.

We work in partnership with the NHS, academia, the life sciences industry, charities and research infrastructure organisations to maximise the potential of our clinical research regionally, nationally and internationally.

We are organised through a series of business units:

  • Research Delivery
  • Research Operations
  • Business Development
  • Governance and Quality
  • Communications and Engagement

We work closely with the six Clinical Divisions of the hospital, with dedicated clinical leaders for research in each division. Our leadership team includes internationally recognised clinicians, scientists and research experts, reporting to the Medical Director and Trust Board.
